Otis Building-Straub
The meeting was called to order at 17:15 in the VTC conference room at the Otis Building next to Straub Clinics and Hospital.
In attendance: Kathy Anzelon, Steven Hobbs, Carly Peterson, Jesse Tabaniag, Hollie Hall, Rowena Murphy, Sean Riley, and via VTC two Kauai representatives _____________.
Carly, as incoming president, has asked Jesse Tabaniag to be Acting Secretary effective immediately, to replace Alissa Stewart due to her military deployment. The appointment was agreed to by all present and approved.
Committee Reports
1. Trauma
Carly announced that Kathy Anzelon will remain Trauma Chair and Steven Hobbs will Co-Chair for 2010
2. Injury prevention
Carly announced that Kathy will be the designated chair and Carly will co-chair
Old Business

HI ENA website will up as of 2 p.m. January 15, 2010

Steve and Kathy will be doing training and acting as web administrators.
2. Instructors for ENA sponsored courses e.g. ENPC/TNCC
Any individual paid >$600.00 will receive 1099 forms from ENA for income tax purposes
New Business
1. TNCC provider course offered in Hilo Medical Center
On December 12 and 13, 2009, a TNCC course was offered to Hilo Medical Center staff
Carly was the course director and a number of new instructors fulfilled their requirement in becoming a full pledge instructor from this course offering (Genine Gorman, Pam West, Tim Hawkins)
Kathy congratulated Carly, Pam and all the instructors for a job well done in coordinating a class of near 30 students
Kathy announced that in the near future, there will be a TNCC recertification call will be offered--TBD
2. ENA Leadership Conference
Next leadership conference will be held this February 17 - 21, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois
Hawaii attendees:
Jennifer Wheaton: (TAMC is paying most of her conference cost requires 1 class fee registration from HIENA that Tripler is not paying for cost TBD)
Kathy Anzelon: (QMC will pay most of conference cost and may require $500.00 stipend)
Jesse Tabaniag: (KP will pay for tuition/registration and the group decided on $1,000.00 stipend for attending)
Information/Announcement
1. Steve Hobbs will continue with ENAHI website development
Trauma Symposium by QMC will be held on July 22 & 23, 2010 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village; a new offering will be a “nurse track.”
Carly conducted an ESI class in Kauai last summer
Steve presented beautiful plaques (in appreciation) to all 2008-2009 officers; Carly, Kathy, Jennifer, Alicia
Next HSC meeting--based on previous meeting, the meetings will be held every other month and meeting locations will be rotated
next meeting: March 4, 2010 1700 - 1830 at the QMC , VTC will be made available for interested parties on the other islands
