Post Trauma Symposium

The meeting was called to order at 1710 by Steve Hobbs (Carly out of town)

In attendance:  Kathy Anzelon, Steven Hobbs, Jesse Tabaniag, Pam West, Brenda Gartner, Barbara Childress, Michele Okamoto, M. Hayashida, Leah Aguling, Diana Yates, Elizabeth Jones, Peggy Sale.

Committee Reports
1.  Trauma
a)  Peggy Sale: reported that the State will provide funding/indirect fees to participate with HI State Trauma System to the following facilities:  QMC, Hilo Medical, Wilcox Hospital, 10 CAH, North Hawaii, Kona and Maui Medical.
b)  A bonafide provider needs to be elected
c)  Pending approval from with Attorney General
d)  Need to determine who of HSC ENA will sign-off?:  Carly and Kathy

2.  Injury prevention:  no report or new discussions

New Business
1.  ENA 2010 Annual Conference September 21-25, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas
a)  Steve Hobbs announced that the delegates and alternate delegate has been elected for attendance: Kathy Anzelon, Steve Hobbs, Pamela Neff, Carly Petersen, Pamela West (alt. delegate)
b)  Steve commented that the delegates were selected on a point system thereby the top 5 were selected
    

Roundtable/Information/Announcement
Steve encouraged group to have increase Hawaii participation/involvement
Peggy Sale along with Dr. Maddox, highly encouraged a merger between ENA and STN (society of trauma nurses).  The motion enthusiastically received by meeting attendees but this proposal needs to be presented to officiating bodies (the two parties) and need further discussion at a later time and the proper venue
Steve indicated that HSC ENA need to nominate and President elect for 2012

Meeting adjourned at 1735 per Steve.

Next meeting scheduled is September 23, 2010 at Pali Momi.
